I’ve been living in Florida for a few years and I hear about a lot of strange laws – especially when it comes to sex. One I’ve heard most recently is that it’s against the law to own sex toys here in the Sunshine State. I was floored when I heard that. At first, I thought it was some kind of joke, but it turns out it’s true. Supposedly, dildos it’s a law that’s been on the books since the 80’s.
I just don’t get it! I mean, why would this kind of thing be illegal? I know it’s pretty controversial, but still, it’s ridiculous to me. I mean, it’s not like people are going to be using them in public – not that they should. Still, being able to own them in the comfort of your own home should be no one’s business.
After finding out about this so-called law I did some research to try to understand why it’s in place. From what I could tell, it seems like it’s pretty much just an archaic piece of legislation that’s never been repealed. Honestly, it seems like a pretty silly law to me – especially in this modern day and age.
I decided to reach out to my friends and see what they had to say. Most of them couldn’t believe it either. We just kept shaking our heads and wondering why it’s even still on the books. I mean, they’re completely harmless and no one’s getting hurt. It just doesn’t make any sense.
In the end, I still don’t really understand why sex toys are banned in Florida. I’ll keep learning more about it and hopefully I’ll be able to figure something out. However, until then I’ll just have to respect the law and keep my toys—and my curiosity—to myself.

Moreover, sex is a healthy and natural part of life and it is perfectly normal for adults to explore their sexuality. Owning sex toys should be seen as a positive as it allows adults of all genders and orientations to actively engage in safe sexual exploration and practice mutual pleasure. It also helps to de-stigmatize sex and can lead to a better, more fulfilling sex life.
From an economic standpoint, banning people from owning sex toys has had a negative impact on adult retailers and businesses. Florida is home to many businesses that sell sex toys and restricted access to these products has caused a decline in overall sales. This has a ripple effect, as struggling businesses have had to lay off employees due to reduced profits.
All in all, it’s disheartening that in this day and age sex toys are still banned in Florida. Not only is this law violating people’s freedom of choice, but it is impractical in terms of economics. It’s high time for Florida to update their laws and get with the times!
